I’ve lost this little body of mine.

I envision the inner-workings of my body as a jigsaw puzzle, a maze of fragmented pieces. Many that don't fit together, unless positioned in its designated place. I've given pieces away, I've taken some for myself, and had some confiscated from me. All to end up losing this little body of mine. Though to whom do they belong? To the flickering light behind my eyes or to the one who could sign me a check. Amidst the rubble of my fractured identity, I live inside myself, gluing together this jigsaw, despite losing this little body of mine.

This collection of 35 artworks will be presented exclusively on SuperRare.

All auctions will open for offers and bids on May 30th at 1 pm EST.

Additionally, 5 of the 35 works have been gifted to select collectors and will also be shared below.

All of the artworks are digitally native oil paintings, incorporating physically scanned assets within the compositions. This body of work was created entirely using Procreate, Art Set 4, and Art Rage Vitae.

Ironically the work itself shares a name with the collection. Given that this is a 1 of 1 of 35 collection, they all have a shared similar quality that binds them all together. This being the main central abstract figure in the center of the painting.

This painting will be exhibited in Charlotte, North Carolina at the L.A.N.D. Gallery from June 7th to July 30th as apart of their Juneteenth Group Exhibit.

It’s an interesting choice to simply give away some of the pieces. Why gift works from this collection to past collectors?

They are a core part of the community I’ve built for myself over the years. Our conversations range from art to life and the simple things in between. They resonate with the work I release and aid in the overall growth of my artistic practice.

I personally chose them from my list of collectors for the artist/collector relationship that I have with them. Any day I know I can pop into a chat with them and really connect on a human level over art, life and almost anything.

gifted to Rob

I personally chose you from my collector base for truly being invested in the progression of artists like myself. You’ve helped me so much in the execution of my last collection and heard me out for my pitch over it all

stressful sores

I don't feel the stress but these blemishes won't go away.

January 2024 Digital Oil Painting, Procreate, Art Set 4, Art Rage Vitae

gifted to Flannel

I personally chose them not only championing the dialogue that takes place from a work of art but in how them championed myself. It’s rare to see someone so dedicated to taking the artist's voice and message in full despite not always having that face to face interaction with them.

failed an art class

am I really lacking the necessary skills to accurately express myself as an artist?

January 2024 Digital Oil Painting, Mixed Media, Procreate, Art Set 4, Art Rage Vitae

gifted to AP

I personally chose them for how they’ve championed my art over the past year. They truly resonate with my message and vision outside of some of the shortcoming I naturally feel with my art.

The beauty is in the details. Could you eleborate on this concept of ‘losing this little body?

Here I’m using the notion of losing one's body mentally as a theme. The analogy of the body as a jigsaw puzzle offers a easy to visualize starting point, evoking a sense of fragmentation and disconnection. I invite the viewer to contemplate the myriad of ways in which we negotiate with our sense of self, whilst gluing together a sense of wholeness from the fragments of our lived experiences.

I imagine myself, my body standing over an array of jigsaw pieces, some are missing, lost to the ether of memory or relinquished in moments of vulnerability. I’ve embraced the inherent messiness of my existence, celebrating imperfection, and have recognized that true wholeness lies not in conformity but in the courageous act of embracing my own complexity.
