Artist Notes — “I often ask myself, how does my everyday life inform the paintings that I make. Whether it be simple chores around the house, or reminiscing over old photos, i’m always drawn towards something. One thing i’ll never forget is the red sunsets that wrapped around the islands I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. From Barbados to Puerto Rico, each visit reminds me that all of the work that I do here, all of the hats I need to wear to keep the practice going is all worth it in the long run. I envision myself being about to take my art back to my family on the island and show them that I doing my best to represent them well”
